The PRONUSTIC Laboratory was created in 1999 at the Université de Montréal by Professor Barthélemy Kuate Defo, Tenured in Population Health and Global Health.
PRONUSTIC is a multidisciplinary training and research laboratory in population studies, public health, nutrition, information technology, big data and sustainable development. Its activities worldwide involve over 195 countries.
PRONUSTIC fosters the expansion and the advancement of knowledge using innovative research activities by students and researchers who are members of the Laboratory. These members come from high-income countries as well as low- and middle-income countries.
PRONUSTIC provides an ideal environment for advanced research on novel topics by graduate students, carries out exchange programs for graduate students from different French-speaking and English-speaking universities, provides mentorship to young scholars and postdoctoral fellows by experienced researchers and faculty members from various scientific fields related to population studies, public health, information technology, and big data in global population health.
